Would you recommend this Interior Designer and why?
Yes, Lionel has been a great help with our renovation project. He was extremely helpful and responsible and provided some good suggestions for certain aspects of the renovation. On top of being the main designer for our project, he has quote a bit of hands-on skills, being able to fix light fittings and some of the carpentry work around the house. Lionel was very approachable throughout the project, and did not hesitate to come over even on a Friday night to address some of the issues / problems brought up by us. Will definitely recommend Lionel as an interior designer to our friends.
What advice would you give to future homeowners?
Start planning for the renovation way before. Speak to friends who have recently renovated their house and visit their place if possible to gather some practical ideas. While most projects will be completed within a month, give it 2 weeks time frame to buffer for potential delays from suppliers etc. Try to visit the house often on weekdays, on top of weekend visits.

What advice would you give to future homeowners?
First time own a house, owner may have a clear vision for your home, but an interior designer can help you bring it to life while making sure it satisfies nitty-gritty considerations such as space planning. Firstly, you will need to set your budget. After follow by your design concept and colours, this will helps your designer able to provide yours desiring and expectation 3D draft. Do not plan a very tight timeline for interior design to complete your project, as you may need to follow up and give more choices for yourself to make more survey. There are many cases whereby owner’s budget and owner will choose cheaper quality, I will suggest seek your interior designer opinion the long lasting of the quality before make any wrong decision. A responsive interior designer is willing to advise valuable opinion to provide a good quality of works and to meet client’s expectation and trust.

ID Firm:
Designer(s): Jaysie Low
Budget: $20k - $30k
Would you recommend this Interior Designer and why?
Yes I would recommend Jaysie. She may not have many years of experience as an ID, but she has a very solid foundation as a drafter prior to her current role. She is very responsible and follows up with every single item to the very detail. Her quotes are very transparent with no hidden cost. In short, she delivers what she promises.
What advice would you give to future homeowners?
Need to give sufficient time to cater for unforeseen circumstances such as popping tiles, shifting of lighting points, painting etc. Scrutinize the line items of the quotes from various IDs so that you can make a fair apple-to-apple comparison. Responsiveness of the IDs is also very important, you would want a ID who gives you assurance from time to time that the works are progressing well on schedule or gives you an update frequently.
