My wife and I engaged Xavier Goh for makeover of a 4 BR room condo, at the height of the pandemic. From the start, Xavier was communicative and patient, and receptive to the design style we were looking for. When we were initially undecided on the tv console, he took pains to provide a few designs for consideration, and was flexible enough to accommodate changes. During the actual fabrication and installation phase, Xavier and his team kept on top of things, and met the tight schedule despite the manpower challenges. His professionalism shone through even after the project, ensuring that minor defects and follow ups were completed. Heartfelt thanks to Xavier and his team!

We started searching for ID right after we confirmed the purchase of our home in May 2021. We first shortlisted IDs based on their previous works which were similar to our design inspiration. Then, we spent about 4 weekends, meeting with 11 IDs, and Xavier Goh (*previously with Carpenters 匠) was one of the IDs. After their first design pitch, we further narrowed down to Xavier Goh and the other ID. We met with Xavier Goh for the 2nd time and this round, he incorporated our own design theme, ideas and lifestyle (particularly the love of Japanese minimalist) into his overall design. He also explained to us in detail his design ideas for our home and how those would integrate and improve our daily mechanics in the home. Impressed and convinced, we decided to sign with him. While his quotation was not the cheapest, we chose him because he is sincere and able to communicate effectively with us. This is important as we want to minimize any error due to miscommunication since this will be our home for a long time. He then proceeded to further convert his design draft into 3D renderings, while having multiple discussions with us to ensure our needs and ideas were not neglected. Due to seller’s extension, we could only start our renovation 3 months after the purchase completion. Time was not wasted during the waiting period— Xavier Goh shortlisted materials and other fittings in the home. It truly saved us a lot of trouble as we did not need to look at the whole eye-dazzling range of different materials. Xavier Goh coordinated for the renovation to start immediately after we gotten our keys. As our rental lease was coming to an end, he tried to complete the renovation before the end of our lease. The whole renovation took 3-months (Oct 2021-Dec 2021) and he followed up closely each task by his contractors. The final results turned out to be exactly like how my wife and I have dreamt of. We truly love the design and all his efforts and thoughts that goes into it. A great bonus during our home building journey, we also make a new friend, Xavier Goh. *Xavier Goh has since started his own ID firm, Mu Design Studio.

We came to Xavier in the height of the Pandemic, during 2020-2021, just after CB and right into 2nd lockdown. Truthfully, we were scared, being 1st time homebuyers, 1st time resale flat owners and 1st time reno finders. Labor was short, material was short, IDs didn't follow up after 1st consult, prices were changing by the minute. Xavier was seriously the only ID that gave us a proper quote and breakdown. It's scary, trusting everything on a one and only choice. In hindsight, it was the BEST DECISON WE EVER MADE. Right from the start, we found him to be friendly, sincere, genuine and responsive. His professionalism cannot be beaten. Setting up a working relationship was so easy, he understood our plans, ideas and intentions from just a few stock photos. Drafts and 3D models were timely done, on site measurements were fast and accurate, and he on site supervised key contractors during critical stages of the reno. Super hardworking fellow. From planning, to painting, to plumbing, to carpentry, to lighting, there were no big surprises. Problems were anticipated in advance, BY HIM, and solutions were given before we even had time to worry. My only surprise? How could reno be this easy! To be fair, the project did need extra time, as it was a pandemic project. But the results speak for themselves. I can only hope more people (not just our family and friends) will come to find him too. Everyone has nothing but love and praise for what he has done for our dream-come-true home.

I’m very satisfying with my Mu Design Studio experience and definitely recommend my designer, James Cheng. MU DESIGN Studio makes the process seamless, has thought of everything, and delivers a great product at a reasonable cost. James Cheng was super responsive, thoughtful, open to feedback, and a pleasure to work with. James Cheng! Positive: Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, Responsiveness, Value We engaged Xavier Goh previously from Carpenters to be our ID for our new home. Although now he work for MU Design Studio, I would also like to recommend that Xavier has been a wonderful ID to work with. During our discussion phase, he listened to our thoughts and ideas and gave us practical advises on designing our home. We decided went for a Scandinavian theme and the final design was exactly what we had in mind. The renovation process took approximately 3 months in total. Any issues and errors we raised were resolved timely. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and the outcome was satisfactory to us. I would not hesitate to recommend him to my relatives and friends in future. Thank you for your good work, Xavier!!!
