Would you recommend this Interior Designer and why?

I am very disappointed with Spacious Planners Pte Ltd. We have submitted a request for quote for my house from 15th Oct and till today, 23th Nov, have not heard anything from them. We sent a followup to Genie Law on 8th Nov and was told she is very busy and will ask someone to followup with our quote but till today, nothing was hear. I was wondering are the renovation of our kitchen and 3 bed rooms too peanut that are wasting their time to send us a quote or find someone to followup with us.

What advice would you give to future homeowners?

Will not recommend anyone with "SMALL PROJECT " to waste more than an hour of your time explaining what you need and later they went MIA. For your references. As I did not engage their service, will mark them as 5/10 for Quality of Renovation, Design Concept, Value for Money.

Would you recommend this Interior Designer and why?

We are very grateful to have Johan as our interior designer. He possesses good knowledge of interior design and home furnishings. Also, he always has an answer or rationale to all our questions. We were impressed with his proposed designs and even though I had my reservations initially, he quickly proved that he knew what he was doing and delivered what he had promised. Johan has good foresight and vision to his designs, often thinking of solutions to issues that we have not considered yet. While he maintains a high standard of how the furnished house should look at the end, he does not pressure us into buying items that are out of our budget. There were also many occasions when he walked the extra mile for us. There was one time during his day off – we were buying furniture and we could not find that piece of item that he had proposed. He stayed with us over messages while he searched the Internet for an alternative. We appreciated his small actions that showed his commitment to our project. His 3D rendering had my friends and family gasping in delight whenever I show them the designs. Thanks to Johan, the house turned out just the way it looked on the 3D rendering. Of course, the cherry on the icing would be that Johan is extremely approachable and friendly. Travelling with him from furniture shop to furniture shop was not awkward nor intimidating. He’s an excellent choice for people who want their house to look luxuriously cosy. If we were to get a second house, we would consider Johan again because he is open to what his customers wants and try to cater to their needs.

What advice would you give to future homeowners?

As a homeowner, you should remember that it is your house and you need to be comfortable in whatever design given, even if circumstances may lead to certain compromises. However, be nice to your designer and contractors. It goes a long way.

Would you recommend this Interior Designer and why?

Yes, Travis is a very organized person and have a lot of ideas on how to beautify your home. He is a patient and detailed person which help me a lot on. He will carefully explain the flows of renovation and have a very well planned schedule. Apart, he is a very hardworking person which always update us on the reno's status. It great to have him as our interior designer.

What advice would you give to future homeowners?

My advice to the new homeowners is to have clear plan on the expenses and also trying to know what you want at the first place. Also planned your dateline together with your ID to ensure smooth delivery of the project.

Would you recommend this Interior Designer and why?

Yes, he's a very polite and accommodating designer. He will share his ideas without imposing them on you. Flexible to accommodate last minute changes. Obliging to make rectifications at our requests and provides consultation on our furniture selections.

What advice would you give to future homeowners?

My advice to future homeowners is that you must take time to source for a few IDs before deciding the correct or preferred one. The IDs must be reliable , trustworthy and able to communicate our ideas to the contractors that are doing the job. The IDs must also be able to make rectifications at our requests and provides consultation on your furniture selections.

Would you recommend this Interior Designer and why?

Yes. The reasons which I recommend this interior designer are as follows: 1) Designer has very good communication skills which can listen to customer's requirement and give best recommendation accordingly; 2) Follow-up is very close in process of whole renovation; 3) Designer gave a lot of tips and advice based on their experience when we discussed on renovation design, material selection and cost control.

What advice would you give to future homeowners?

I'd like to advise future homeowners: 1) Ensure all defects verification completed with the help of designers since they have lots of experience; 2) Need choose a good designer and start design/quotation discussion at least a month earlier than key collection date; 3) Be careful of color and style capabilities between renovation and furniture/window curtain. Tried not to have multiple styles and colors.

Would you recommend this Interior Designer and why?

Yes, I will definitely recommend this ID to my friends, as Kevin is a very responsible ID with plenty of ideas that can bring your dream home come true. Aslo the cost is very reasonable comparing to other ID (we've compared around 6 ID's quotation). Basically we meet every week during the renovation period and text reguarly whenever there's question, and Kevin has always been albe to privode prompt & professional support all the time. We only to to the site once or twice a week and there's no need to worry about the schedule as everything is well- planned...

What advice would you give to future homeowners?

Try to plan at least 1-2 month earlier before getting the key as this time I was in a rush (only 1 week before) . Need to meet every ID at least twice and compare at least 3-4 ID's quotations before make final decision, It's very tedious but you'll find the effort worthwhile in the end. Must have an ID if you're not sure about your expecation and taste. It might be costy but definitely worthy when you don't have much time and ideas about the renovation.

Would you recommend this Interior Designer and why?

Yes, I will recommend Spacious to my friends. Travis has provided good customer service and I am satisfied with the design and concept he proposed. The delivery and workmanship is satisfactory also. He also follow-up closely on the porject and kept us constantly updated.

What advice would you give to future homeowners?

My advice to the homeowners, do not look into just comparing prices alone as it does not equates to quality and customer satisfaction. Also remember to plan together with your designer the budget and the timeline you required during the renovation.

Would you recommend this Interior Designer and why?

Wilson's attention to details and construction quality is commendable and possessed excellent project management skills to ensure the quality outcome of the project. In addition, Wilson feels that the home-owner should be part of the design process and took extra efforts to understand the preference and took our aesthetic preference into account throughout the rigorous design discussion sessions. Wilson is indeed an excellent designer demonstrating patience, professionalism and ensuring quality workmanship. He has an eye for details, has cultivated good aesthetic taste, and able to facilitate good design discussions through the project cycle. While the general concept was conceived by my wife and I, Wilson brought it to life through skillful translations into detailed designs and spatial concepts. Many designers will like to dominate the design process and force upon the clients with their personal ideas. For Wilson, he "co-creates" the designs collectively with us, with our original over-arching ideas remained unchanged.

What advice would you give to future homeowners?

I encourage home owners to discuss their needs and aesthetic preferences with several interior designers or firms before signing up with a designer / design firm. Don't just base the decision on price alone. Go and see their works or comb through their project portfolio. Given that interior design is a very personalised trade, home owners may want to ensure that the designer is a good fit to their acquired taste, able to facilitate good design discussions & offer solutions, and translate the home-owners' aspirations or dream home ideas into practical, yet elegant designs.

Would you recommend this Interior Designer and why?

Vivi was receptive to our suggestions and worked on solutions to incorporate that into a flawless, tasteful, clean and coherent design. She followed up on all rectification works until every detail was to our complete satisfaction. The long one year warranty period was a boost to our high confidence in her workers' carpentry works - in the end we didnt even have to use it to re-fix anything as the quality of the finishings has lasted 9 years already without cracks, leaks, or popped tiles! Amazing quality and service orientatedness by both Vivi, her sub-contractors, and the generic and/or branded fittings she recommended. The speed of the works done was also earlier than projected, so they did a great job in a shorter than expected timeframe.

What advice would you give to future homeowners?

Have a look at the Spacious Planners portfolio books readily available at the show office tables. Your timelines will be reasonably managed by the Gantt charts they provide, so that for any given week, you will know what work is done, where it is done and how long it would be done. The workmanship and attention to detail is the best I have ever seen. Vivi and her team even goes the extra mini mile by proactively repairing e.g. rusty cabinet hinges, on a compliment basis, without been told !
